Lotus Healing Bowl

$275.00

Our hand hammered singing bowls are made from a special metallic alloy of seven different metals; copper, iron, tin, lead, gold, silver and zinc that corresponds to the seven planets in the universe and the seven chakras in our body.

Thick plate of alloyed metals is heated in a fire and when the plate is red hot and soft it is hammered to form a shape of a bowl.

By striking the surface by a striker or rubbing the rim of the bowl with a wooden mallet, you can produce a sound that allows deep relaxation of both sides of brains.  This bowl plays all the notes, a beauty of handmade bowls. You can decorate your office, home or meditation room with this handmade bowl, it will emit positive vibes for your general well-being.

This healing bowl features a detailed Lotus design, one of the eight auspicious symbols in Buddhism.  In Buddhism, the lotus is a symbol of the Buddha’s awakening and a reminder that all beings have the same potential to attain enlightenment. The lotus grows out of mud and rises to the water’s surface to bloom in beauty and purity, so too can the human develop the virtues of a Buddha and rise above desire and attachment to reveal the true nature.

The stage of the lotus flower represents the stages on the spiritual path. For example, a closed bud is synonymous with the beginning of the journey. A partly open flower indicates walking the path. A fully blooming flower signifies the end of the journey--enlightenment.

The outer base of the bowl is etched with the image of Vajra, a ritual weapon symbolizing the properties of a diamond (indestructibility) and a thunderbolt (irresistible force). In Buddhism, vajra has three meanings: durable, luminous, and able to cut. Like the diamond, vajra smashes all devious influences, but is itself indestructible.  Like the thunderbolt, its light breaks up the darkness. Like śūnyatā (the nature of reality), it will cut away your afflictions and misguided views.

The outside rim of the bowl is decorated with the compassion mantra, Om Mani Padme Hum, in Tibetan script.  This mantra invokes the powerful benevolent attention and blessings of Chenrezig, the embodiment of compassion.

The bowl is also etched with images of clouds of heaven for good luck and general well-being.

The bowl measures approximately 8 inches wide and 4 inches deep.

Comes with a storage box, mallet, striker and a cushion!

The entire process of making a bowl takes about 4-5 days of skilled workmanship.
