Fall is here!
O! sun-flame hues of autumn trees
joyfully letting go of your
golden
rustic
amber
leaves
I am filled with wonder
at your willingness
shedding gold crisps
enriching mother Earth
without any sign of emptiness
I wonder if the Goddess of abundance
has manifested her presence
with such an act of benevolence
Due to erratic weather patterns
leaves are dropping
before they have a chance to change their colors
O! I cannot stand to see your falling green leaves
hence I gently pat you for my own sake
friends think I have fallen mad,
but I am worried if you are falling sad
deep inside I know you are just fine
it is just the state of this mind
Every time I pat a tree
I feel a burst of energy
in my hands in my entire body
one day while patting a
gnarled
knotted
tree trunk
my dry cracked hands
wished for drops of oil
O! the tree produced a mysterious nectar
I almost flaked out with fear and wonder
the trees never stop giving
“it perfumes the blade that cuts it”
so sang the elders in my village
I gazed in awe at the magnanimous tree
Yowza!
I kept singing
I kept singing
