Greetings!
I'm Manishi, one of the individuals steering Handmade Happiness, an online Book Arts and handicrafts store nestled in the breathtaking landscapes of British Columbia, Canada.
My connection with the world of handmade paper and journals traces back to the early 2000s during a trek in Nepal. In a quaint village, I stumbled upon artisans crafting paper in the same age-old way practiced for centuries. The allure of their exquisite creations captured my heart, and I knew I had discovered something truly special.
From that moment, I embarked on a creative journey, crafting papers and stitching journals, showcasing them in local markets in Squamish, Whistler, and Vancouver. In 2010, this passion evolved into a commitment as I began collaborating closely with Nepalese artisans. Together, we've been crafting unique, eco-friendly, and Fair Trade products that prioritize both people and our planet. All our offerings are meticulously handmade, using locally sourced sustainable materials.
Our dedication extends beyond product creation; it's about preserving traditional crafts. Whether it's paper-making, metalsmithing, book arts, felt crafting, or weaving, we support these artisans, ensuring their skills are passed down to future generations, keeping the rich tapestry of art and craft alive. Your support has not only provided a much-needed source of income for artisans and their families in Nepal but has also empowered over 95% women artisans in our network.
Thank you for being a vital part of our journey and for supporting handmade crafts that make a positive impact on communities and the environment.
With gratitude,
Manishi Handmade Happiness
